Your Google Documents presentation must include:
- A brief summary or plot teaser. This is an overview, and not intended to be the bulk of your presentation. (20 pts.)
- An analysis of the author's style and purpose. You should use language that is appropriate for literary analysis. This means you should be using terms like point of view, simile and metaphor, conflict, characterization (flat vs. round), etc. Support this section with direct information and quotes. (20 pts.)
- A "What I've Learned" section. Discuss what you learned about culture, human nature, or society. This section must be supported with evidence. (20 pts.)
- Your personal reaction and recommendation. Why did you like or dislike the book? Make a rating scale and rate the book. (20 pts.)
- Clean visual elements throughout. You may cut and paste pictures into your presentation, or if you are an artist or an able designer, include your own stuff. Make sure your work looks professional and not last-minute. (20 pts.)

After you design your presentation, don't forget to "share" the document with me. Enter my email address after you click the share option in Google Docs.
Please email me or ask in class if you run into difficulties.

when is it due?
May 26.
Do you have to open a new document every time you want a new "slide"?
Because i have just been opening a new slide each time and i was wondering if there is a way to like compile them all together?
do you share it as an email presentation or do you share it to others?
I dont like this google docs
I can't find the spell check anywhere! So it won't be my fault if it's full of mistakes, because I like powerpoint much better.
You can use PowerPoint and import the slides to Google docs.
Mr walker-
Google docs is not working for me at all. It says error this and confirm that and blah and GAH! Its simply not working for me! Im sorry but I am going to do it my way. Im very frustrated and my parents got in a huge argument starting with this google doc... I quote my dad at 9:02pm: "Clothes before homework"
Alright folks. I've been away from a computer all weekend, so I'm just checking your questions now. As far as spell check goes, you could cut and paste from your word processor or the word processor within Google Docs. When you are done, press "share", select "share with others", and enter my email address. If you are having a technological crisis, please don't despair. We'll take care of some of your issues in class. Rachel, I'm sorry this has caused such frustration for you and your family. This will all work out.
When you want to open a new slide, click the little "+" button above the slide navigator.
Step by step on my problem
1) I put in email then password
2) I ignore the check box for remembering me
3) I go and click on my project
4) it opens a new window
5) I close previous window which logs out of previous window
6) I work on project but it does not save
7) I have it done and I clock on save, but it says that It has timed out or something
8) my email was verified on google last year, so it works, I have half of my project done, but I can't save when I finish! I need help!
9) I think it may be that I close the previous windows. It doesn't open it in a new tab and I dislike having too many windows, but I love tabs.
10) I will try again today. I need a new computer as well, it may be my 2004 dell that has been re source of my problems:(

Carlos,
My first suggestion would be to try it on one of the school computers. Mr. Bost might let you use the Focus Lab. This will let you know if it is, indeed, your Dell that is the root of your problems. The second thing I would suggest is to check your browser. Is it updated? Firefox should be 3.0 or above. I.E. I'm not sure about; I don't use it. Safari must be 3.0 or above as well (Macs). All of these browsers are free to upgrade on the net. www.firefox.com.
1. Don't use IE.
2. DON'T USE IE!
3. Saving sometimes doesn't work if your connection to the internet doesn't work or isn't too fast.
Yep, you need Firefox 3.0 or higher. At first i had a error that did not allow me to save, but after i upgraded Mozilla Firefox to version 3.0 it saved. And, I don't think a old computer is the source to the error because my computer is ten years old and works fine. Probably you just need to update your comp.
I am now using google chrome, it is the best! I have hadn't had any problems so far. I am almost done, and this time i have a few backups, like word, so all Ill have to is copy/paste my work. I also made myself a gmail, it has my name on it to make it easy to figure out it was me.
Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it!
This is a stupid way to do this project.
Thank you, "anonymous", for your productive commentary.
I welcome your opinion, but please give a reason, valid or not, for your frustration, instead of an empty statement like,"this is stupid," given while hidden under a shroud of anonymity.
That's cool. Glad you guys solve the error.
